J.L. Mott Aquarium at Stanford Mansion

A J.L. Mott Fountain Aquarium in Mrs. Stanford’s sitting room (Parlor) in San Francisco. Photo from the Eadweard Muybridge photograph collection, 1868-1929. Originally one of the most luxurious residences in the United States, at 41,000 square feet and 50 rooms! Sadly, destroyed by fire shortly after the great 1906 San Francisco earthquake.
